About

On Saturday October 5th, Flowing Wells & Amphi Little League will be holding it’s 2nd Annual Hit-A-Thon fundraising event.  The money raised helps us to keep our league registration fees affordable, maintain our baseball & softball fields, and provide quality equipment for our players.  The Hit-A-Thon is a fun community event!

Swing for Your Chance to Hit in the

MDLL Home Run Derby

Be a part of the 2019 MDLL Hit-a-Thon Action and Swing for the Fences

Hit-A-Thon is Mason District Little League's fundraiser and a great way for players to practice swinging for the fences!

Hit-a-thon is similar to a walk-a-thon. Each player solicits sponsors who pledge to make a tax-deductible donation to MDLL. Our longest-distance hitters from each level earn a spot in the Home Run Derby.

Here's what your participation means to our baseball community:

MDLL offers a lot, and our families do a lot too to make this community successful. The registration fees alone do not cover everything necessary or everything we dream of for our teams’ experiences here. With this fundraiser, we can do more.

MDLL’s biggest operating costs are the fields and equipment. Did you know that each field permit with the County has an associated fee? And the more field time we need and the more we use, the more we need to be able to afford. Field maintenance is crucial. We are glad to partner with the County but during the season, field upkeep and any supplies needed for field upkeep are MDLL’s responsibility.

Each year, the league also purchases equipment that gets worn out, or equipment to meet growing needs for quantities, or to meet new safety standards. Support during the 2018 Hit-a-Thon prepared us for the big increase in player sign-ups this spring! And, we’d like to be able to do more to ease the burden on families.

Thank you for supporting the 2019 Hit-a-Thon!

FAQ

What will the money raised go to?
The main initiative we are raising money for is new baseball & softball equipment, field equipment and new netting in the batting cages. . Along with above mention areas  we will utilize the funds raised to support the spring Opening Day and other various improvements to our fields and facilities.

Why a hit-a-thon?
We were looking for something simple that allowed players the possibility to collect smaller dollar
amounts (if desired) from a potentially larger pool. Since there is no fixed cost or perishable items to
deliver, players can now collect donations from friends and relatives regardless of where they live. We also felt that hit-a-thon would help build a sense of community amongst the league by creating a fun event for all to enjoy.

How will players collect money?
Each player will have their own web page that they can share via email or social media. Donations can be made through the website via credit or debit card. Players will also have the option of collecting cash or check donations and submitting manually.

How much will each player need to raise?
We are asking each player to set a minimum of a $30.00 fundraising goal. The more you raise the better chance you have to win a prize!

When is the hit-a-thon scheduled for?
The hit-a-thon is scheduled for Saturday October 6, 2018

Can players still participate in the hit-a-thon if they don't collect pledges?
Yes, every player registered in the fall season can participate in the hit-a-thon regardless if they collect pledges or not.

Why do we need a fundraiser at all?
Flowing Wells & Amphi Little League  works hard to provide the best little league experience in District 5 while keeping our registration fees as low as possible. We are 100% responsible to pay all associated cost of equipment that the players use, for light usage, umpire fees and any additional maintenance above and beyond what Pima County and City of Tucson does to the fields.
